hi, i’m kmo
it’s pronounced kay-moe and it’s short for kelly morgan. i use they & she pronouns.
i am honored to offer politicized somatics forward into the world. i see somatics as especially supportive for anyone struggling to turn insight into action. my work is aimed at supporting queer/trans folks and movement organizers in particular.
to me, healing is not about restoration, it’s about transformation. healing means an ongoing process of becoming more of ourselves, integrating what was into what is for the sake of claiming our agency in what will be.
from this stance, i offer somatics in service to More -- more aliveness, more capacity, more options, more connection, more alignment.
when i am not practicing somatics, i can be found riding my bike under the trees, on the mat at aikido, and reciting poetry to anyone who will stand still long enough.
work history, training, and influences
i completed somatic practitioner certification in 2024 through the Strozzi Institute for Somatics. i have been in rigorous personal practice in the lineage of generative somatics & Strozzi somatics since 2022. the rest of my work history is restaurant and theater work.
i trained in traditional magic under Ylva Mara Radziszewski for two years. folk magic & spirit ways have brought me into an animistic reverence for the planet we inhabit. this connection to More (the more than human, more than perceptible, more than comprehensible) is a concrete part of the offer that i am inside somatic practitionership.
i am influenced by the work of mary oliver, david abram, adrienne marie brown, audre lorde, prentis hemphill, tara brach, lisa feldman barrett, susan aposhyan, starhawk, thich nhat hanh, and thomas merton.
